FREquently asked questions

  • Hopping is difficult because the essence of hops is not entirely water soluble and thus doesn't mix into beer or any beverage easily. Water soluble hop concentrates as a class of hop product are defined by separating the wanted compounds from the rest of the hop and preparing them to readily dissolve in water without transforming them or in any way changing their essence from how it existed in the fresh hop.

  • With our direct-to-brewer sales model, HopXL® concentrate can be purchased directly through our website. This relieves the additional cost and hassle of ordering through a distributor and allows us to offer our products at competitive prices while ensuring there are no compromises in the quality and service our brewers deserve.

  • In essence, far more than our competitors, we are “True to the Hop”.

When producing our concentrates, HopXL® uses a patented method that preserves the hops delicate flavor characteristics while capturing the plants full spectrum of flavors and aromas. This results in a more flavorful and hearty hops experience that is truer to the original hop than our competitors.

Additionally, in sourcing our hops from quality growers known throughout the industry for their outstanding crops, we are able to provide concentrates from a large variety of hop strains, while ensuring an unmatched level of consistency in every bottle we produce. No matter the hop flavor you are looking to capture, we are excited to help you achieve it!

Finally, and above all, HopXL® truly values the relationships we build with brewers and share their passion. This is why our team of experts is always ready to assist with questions, listen to suggestions, or provide technical assistance as needed throughout the brewing process.

  • The HopXL® method of extraction has been painstakingly optimized to provide the highest yield of hop compounds from the raw cone. This allows us to extract a higher concentration of flavors and aromas from the hops when compared to traditional methods and results in less raw material required to achieve the same hop intensity in your final product, reducing the overall cost of ingredients without compromise.

Pure hop concentrates when properly stored have a longer shelf life compared to the raw form or lower purity sources. This added stability reduces waste and frequent restocking, all while providing higher potency than standard methods and once again lowering cost of storage, shipping, and labor.

Finally, HopXL® is a great way to ensure that your existing hops inventory doesn't go to waste. We are able to process any hops into our one-of-a-kind concentrate, preserving its unique flavor and extending shelf life, even for older stock. Our process can lower HSI in the right conditions. This means your hops unique flavor and aroma can be utilized much longer when compared to standard storage methods.
